杰克、韋強，還有鐵辛三人，在老外們最喜歡的、貴得很變態(tài)的王府井長安一號餐廳開會。韋強和鐵辛初次見面，少不得寒暄一陣家長里短。之后，杰克和韋強兩人自顧自聊了起來，鐵辛點了幾千塊的紅酒，有一搭沒一搭地聽著，被問到時隨口說兩句，時不時叫上服務員加菜添水。

待得聽到杰克和韋強的話題轉到自己身上，鐵辛的注意力集中起來。

"Tim，韋總說你一表人才！是杰易有史以來最出色的CEO。"杰克翹起大拇指，用夾生的中文夸贊他。

"哪里哪里，韋總過獎了。"鐵辛習慣性地謙虛著，剛才一直在猜測他們叫他來吃飯的用意，現在總算要轉入正題了。

杰克還是從他那半生不熟的中文轉回了母語，對鐵辛說，"Wei Zong and I are both interested in the investment of business hotels in China. So we plan to start up a Joint Venture company. As I have mentioned, J&L will focus on new media business in the future, so the fast food restaurants need somewhere else to go. That's why I want to have a new business of my own, in order to to buy out some part of the assets from J&L.(我和韋總都很看好經濟型酒店在中國的投資。打算在這方面有一些合作。上次董事會的時候也明確了，杰易未來的方向是媒體，所以我想，快餐店遲早要從杰易中剝離出來。所以打算置辦一些自己的產業(yè)，把一部分資產從杰易買出來并到里邊。)"

鐵辛聽到這里，心里的困惑解決了大半，杰克似乎想另起爐灶。不過他依然搞不清楚杰克為何把他叫過來，又為何對他說這些話。謹慎起見，他說了些無關痛癢，左右皆可的話："I think that's a very good business，one of the business hotel groups in Shanghai went public 3 years ago. European and north American capital markets welcome China concept stories, especially companies with steady cash inflow. But it is a brand new business area for me, I guess Wei Zong must has done a lot of paper work and prepared well, right （我想這真是非常好的生意。據我所知，上海有一個集團3年前上市了，資本市場對中國概念的公司很歡迎，尤其是這種有穩(wěn)定現金流的公司。但這個領域對我來說是全新的，我猜韋總一定已經做了不少研究，而且準備很充分，對嗎？"

"That's why I want you to join in our discussion, we havn't found a qualified executive yet. We need someone who is accountable with true execution experience in this area.（這正是我要你來和我們一起討論的原因，我們還沒有找到一個有資格的執(zhí)行官。我們需要一個可靠的，而且在這領域有實際經營經驗的人。）"

鐵辛聽到這里，總算猜了個八九不離十，料來杰克不至于挖自己的墻角，只不過是想讓他幫忙找人。這樣的人雖然肯定是有的，但是大海撈針，真的找起來，恐怕也得掉層皮，于是說道："To be honest, it is not easy to find such a person. We'd better acquire a business hotel chain-store. Those small targets you can see everywhere.（說實話，找這樣一個人不容易。但我們可以收購某個連鎖酒店。這樣的小酒店遍地都是。）"

"Exactly. That's what I think. So we need your help.（確實如此，我也是這樣想的。所以我們需要你。）"杰克滿懷期待地看著鐵辛。
