英語閱讀能力的培養(yǎng)是大學(xué)英語教學(xué)的重要任務(wù)。對此,《大學(xué)英語課程教學(xué)要求(試行)》做出了定性定量的要求。閱讀不僅是獲取信息的主要手段,也是學(xué)習(xí)和掌握語言的有效途徑。對于廣大非英語專業(yè)大學(xué)生而言,只有通過大量閱讀,才能獲得充足的語言輸入,進而打下扎實的英語基礎(chǔ),形成較強的英語語感,提高英語綜合應(yīng)用能力。培養(yǎng)英語閱讀能力一方面要依賴足夠的閱讀實踐,在閱讀中學(xué)會閱讀;另一方面,能動地運用元認知策略,理性地改進閱讀方法,積極地提高英語閱讀技能,無疑能對培養(yǎng)較強的閱讀能力起到事半功倍的作用。英語閱讀能力包含多種要素,而快速處理閱讀材料所輸入信息的能力是其中極其重要的微技能,這一點早已為閱讀研究者所認識。Grabe(1991)曾經(jīng)指出:“…a description of reading has to account for the notions that fluentreading is rapid,purposeful,interactive,comprehendin9,flexible,and gradually developin9.”。Taylor(1975)也強調(diào)“reading hastobefasttobe successful”。一定的閱讀速度是獲取主要信息所必需的,是保持閱讀興趣、專注于閱讀內(nèi)容所要求的。尤其是在當今這個“信息爆炸”、新知識以幾何級增長的時代,快速閱讀技能的重要性愈加突出。這樣,快速閱讀技能的培養(yǎng)也就必然成為大學(xué)英語教學(xué)的要務(wù)。而大學(xué)英語教學(xué)中要致力于快速閱讀教學(xué),就需要有適當?shù)慕滩淖髦?,適用的教材是保證教學(xué)活動順利開展的必要條件?!洞髮W(xué)體驗英語快速閱讀教程》的編寫正是為了滿足目前國內(nèi)大學(xué)英語教學(xué)的這一實際需要。本教程的編寫以((大學(xué)英語課程教學(xué)要求(試行)》為依據(jù)。本教程共四冊,每冊含l8個單元,可供大學(xué)英語教學(xué)l~4學(xué)期使用(按每學(xué)期l8周,每周一個單元計)。各冊中每單元分Text A和Text B(一篇用于課堂,另一篇供課后練習(xí))。每冊配有“Introduction to Important ReadingStrategies and Skills”。本教程的編寫采取“主題與技能”相結(jié)合的模式,即單元設(shè)置圍繞內(nèi)容主題,練習(xí)設(shè)計針對閱讀技能與文章內(nèi)容。第一、二冊練習(xí)包括多項選擇與正誤判斷兩種題型,第三、四冊練習(xí)包括多項選擇與簡短問答兩種題型。書后附有全書練習(xí)的參考答案。
